About us

Disability is a matter of perfection

My needs aren't special. How my needs are met may be different, but they are the same needs as everyone else's.

Providing care since 2005

Welcome to Pathways Roodepoort stimulation centre for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities. The centre was established in 2005 due to a severe shortage of facilities that provide care and stimulation to children and young adults with disabilities.

Children who are diagnosed with mental and physical impairments abound in all communities. They are however seldom catered for by schooling institutes and therefore become neglected and deprived of the care and stimulation they need.

Children with disabilities are just like others. They want friends, respect and to be included. Emphasize the individual not the disability.

Early stimulation is necessary for the healthy growth of every child’s body and mind. For the non-disabled child stimulation often comes naturally and easily, through interaction with other people. But is often more difficult for the disabled child to experience and explore the world around them.

No two children with disabilities, even those who have the same type of disability are alike, nor are their needs alike. Education and play is a right of childhood.

Communication skills stay with you for life, and teaching these skills to someone as early as possible will help them learn, listen and adapt.

At Pathways we believe each individual will reach their HIGHEST POTENTIAL!
